“Please put down your weapon! You have 20 seconds to comply!”
Without googling, does that line sound familiar? If yes, you’ve probably watched Robocop a few times, right? ED-209 is the prototype replacement for our hero Robocop, which… doesn’t go to well. Due to a programming error the ED-209… well, see for yourself in the video below.
Anyway! Hot Toys have released an ED in a 1/6 format (which means 14 inches / 35 cm), with a bunch of features. Superbly detailed and sculpted right from the movies. It has over 25 poseable joints, a replacement arm for that blown up look, aaaand… a remote control to make the ED-209 talk! He knows three different phrases. Both the already mentioned classic and two more: “You now have 15 seconds to comply” and “You are in direct violation of Penal Code 1.13, Section 9. You have 5 seconds to comply. Four… three… two… one… I am now authorized to use physical force.”
So yeah, I want one. I don’t need it, I don’t have the space for it, and it will probably cost me a buck or two. But I want one.
